Maldives in May

Maldives in April:

Become a Ghostpipefish Buster

April is the last month before the Monsoon changes in the Maldives. Marine creatures do have a sense for that and the tendency to move around at that time. In the past weeks, our Teams could record several rare Marine encounters around our Resorts. At Hilton Maldives a well camouflaged Ghostpipefish was one of the recent Highlights…

Scientific Name: Solenostomus cyanopterus

As the Monsoon change takes usually a couple of weeks, our Divers can expect more special encounters in the near future…

Meet our Resident Leopard Sharks

At Sirru Fen Fushi our Divers do actually not even depend on special occasions to find unique Marine Life. Our Dive Team at Sirru Fen Fushi knows one place which is home of 2! Leopard Sharks and even a rare Guitarfish.

Frog Fish alert during a underwater clean up at Le Meridien Maldives

Ever struggled to convince a kid to clean up their room? Those times are over after sharing the below Story: During a clean up dive underneath our Dive Center at Le Meridien Maldives, our Manager Judith discovered a incredibly beautiful Frogfish. The ornated, red Beauty was literally sitting less than 10 meters away from her office for who knows how long… Cleaning Rocks!!!

More from Sub Oceanic Maldives:

Swimming is easy as ABC, however a positive experience during the first moments in the Water matters. In the month of May, our Team Members across all islands will be trained in SSI’s Brand new Survival Swim Course. The SSI Survival Swim Course is designed to make Non-Swimmers comfortable in the Water. Participants will have the ability to Survive in the Water on their own without the help of floating devices. All it takes are a few simple skills. Those can be usually taught within a few session – even during a short Holiday.

The SSI Survival Swim course will be available at all Sub Oceanic Centers from 20th of May onwards…

On top of that Sub Oceanic Maldives also received the Seal of Appreciation Award from the Sea Save Foundation.
