TURTLE RESCUE AT SIRRU FEN FUSHI PRIVATE LAGOON RESORT
Maldives in March:
Ghostnets are the biggest danger for Turtles in the Maldives. Ghotsnets are basically abandoned fishing nets floating through the Ocean. When Turtles get in touch with a net, it leads in many cases to a painful death for the involved Turtle.
In February, our Team at Sirru Fen Fushi discovered a such a drifting net with an entangled Oliver Ridley Turtle. The Turtle was freed and released after a proper check from the Resident Marine Biologist.
Huge thanks to everyone saving that Turtle’s life!
DISCOVERY OF A NEW MANTA CLEANING STATION AT LE MERIDIEN MALDIVES RESORT & SPA
At Le Meridien Maldives, we discovered a new Manta Cleaning Station in close vicinity of the Resort.

On several days in a row, we could observe Manta Rays getting cleaned at our new secret cleaning Spot – a real Upgrade for our Diving Inhouse Guest.
The cleaning Station is located in a depth slightly deeper than 20 meters. So being trained to go beyond that depth and having a Nitrox Certificate is a real advantage. In case any of those certificates are missing, our Team at Le Meridien is ready to help you…
