Maldives in May: After Husaam’s recent carrier hike, it was time for us to look for the perfect match to take over his former position as Assistant Manager at Hilton Maldives.
While we are generally aiming to fill our leaders Position internally, Marie’s application was too good to ignore. It was very quick clear, that we had our perfect match.
Marie has several years of experience in the Maldives as Diving Instructor. Her last position was located at Barros Maldives. As a result Marie knows the Dive Sites of North Male Atoll already as well as her BCD Pocket:-)

Team Member Spotlight with Dan – Maldives Dolphin Lover #1
We are catching up with Dan, our amazing Dolphin Lover & Guest Relation Officer at Sirru Fen Fushi Private Lagoon Resort.
Dan, you meet so many guests every day — what’s your favorite part about welcoming them to Sub Oceanic Maldives?
We meet guests from all around the world, and my favorite part is explaining and recommending our activities — and seeing them follow up! You also get to learn about them and their stories, which is amazing.
Working so closely with guests, you must have funny stories — can you share one?
Yaaa, it was in November, I guess. There was a Korean couple who came to the Dive Center. I was giving a lesson to our staff about Korea and speaking Korean, and they heard it — so they just joined us! It was so funny!
How do you handle those days when things get really busy and guests need a lot at once?
Nothing special, honestly, because I have a great team who helps me a lot.
Outside of work, what are some things that recharge you and keep your positive energy?
Food 😅 and spending time with my friends and Dolphins! I love Dolphins. My friends say that I am Maldives Dolphin Lover Number one:-)
If you could describe your perfect day off in the Maldives, what would it look like?
I would wake up at 10 AM, have my coffee with some pastries, then go diving with my buddy by boat. After coming back, I would watch my series with a cup of green tea.
Is there a person or moment in your life that really inspired who you are today?
Yes, my friend and colleague from our company. She helped me a lot and really inspired me to enjoy life on the island.
What’s your biggest dream for the future — personal or professional?
To become a pro in the hospitality industry and also a professional diver!
