With “Oceanic 12” we have received a new record breaker in our Sub Oceanic Maldives Fleet. With a cruising speed of 19knots and sufficient space for 16 Scuba Divers and 38 Diving Cylinders, it is one of the fastest and most spacious Dive Boats in Maldives.
Oceanic 12 can even accommodate bigger Dive Groups without any Problem! The Sundeck with its elevated front Railing makes the boat also perfect for Dolphin Cruises.

Snorkel Equipment donation for local school at Sirru Fen Fushi
To support the local community and to ensure that local kids are able to enjoy and appreciate the underwater world around, Sub Oceanic donated enough Mares Snorkeling Sets for a whole school class at the Madhrasathul School on Sirru Fen Fushi’s neighboring island of Maroshi!
Beyond that, efforts are in progress to teach the kids more swimming skills to ensure their safety and to open the opportunity for the right candidates to even learn diving.
Especially at Maroshi Island, which is located next to one of Maldives Top 10 Dive Sites and the best place in the world to encounter Guitarfish, the motivation among the youngsters seems to be huge…

With an estimated reach of over 5 Million viewers, Scuba School International (SSI) wants to ensure to have the best possible background for an long lasting impression. What could be more suitable for that, then the paradise Island of Le Meridien Maldives.
Most importantly, the beauty also continues below the surface, where training videos for all SSI Recreational Scuba Skills will be recorded! With Pyng and Alex, even two Models from our Sub Oceanic Team were casted. That makes us even more excited to start the Video Production…

GROW with Sub Oceanic Maldives
A success story written by our long term Team Member & SSI Instructor Trainer Pyng
At the beginning of June, our long term Team Member Pyng and the whole Sub Oceanic Team had reason to celebrate! Due to Pyng’s passion for teaching Scuba Diving and her endless dedication to work incredibly hard, Pyng mastered to get accepted for the SSI Instructor Trainer Seminar (ITS). The ITS is a bootcamp like 10 day program, which ensures that those who teach future Scuba Diving Instructors are mentally and physically fit to do so!
No problem at all for Pyng, who even seemed to enjoy the drill. At Sub Oceanic we are incredibly proud of Pyng – Congratulations from the whole Team!
It is to mention that already the acceptance for the ITS is not easy at all. Beside having a record of several 100 certifications, which all need to pass high quality standards, the candidates are also required to submit a application to SSI, outlining what qualifies them for the role as Instructor Trainer beyond the pure certification Numbers. This to say, Pyng’s application was more than convincing!
Huge thanks go as well to Marco Gervassi, who was leading the ITS in his role as SSI International Training Director and Daniel Garcia from SSI Maldives for facilitating and organizing the Seminar.
Sub Oceanic Maldives is most happy to have with Pyng a second SSI Instructor Trainer within the Team. This allows us to focus even more on Team Training and Career Development opportunities in future and to strengthen our Position as Maldives Leader in Dive and Team Training!

Team Member Spotlight with Seyt – Captain & Master of the Ocean at Sirru Fen Fushi
Meet Seyt, our experienced and trusted boat captain, who started his journey from the bottom up. Seyt is not only the one steering the boat—but also making sure every guest feels safe, informed, and ready to enjoy the adventure.
Let’s start with your story. How did you become a boat captain?
I started in an entry-level position at sea and gradually worked my way up. My previous experience on the water helped me a lot. Over time, I took on more responsibility and eventually earned the role of captain.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
I enjoy leading a team and making sure every trip runs smoothly. I also really like the connection with guests and the freedom of being at sea.
What’s your best tip for people who are nervous about their first boat trip?
Don’t worry — we always start with a clear safety briefing. We check all the gear and make sure everyone knows what to expect. If you have any doubts, just ask—we’re here to help.
Have you ever had problems at sea? How did you handle it?
Yes and i handle it with the help of my colleagues.
What do guests ask you the most?
About fishing trip and dolphin trip.
If you weren’t a captain, what job would you do?
I’d probably be a carpenter. I like working with wood and using my hands.
Looking ahead – where do you see yourself in five years—still at sea?
Taking on more responsibility in my current role.
