Drill baby, drill! Our Legendary Diving Instructor Training Course (ITC) successfully completed at Le Meridien Maldives!
Huge smiles were visible on the 24th of September 2024 at Le Meridien Maldives when our “Oceanic Five” successfully completed their SSI Instructor Training Course (ITC). By the way, all instructor candidates passed with outstand results!
The Team Member training concept of Sub Oceanic Maldives is very simple: Contribute a lot and get back even more! No surprise that day one of the 2 week non-stop program started without Merci. At dawn all candidates were ask to be present for the Water Fitness Test and it was visible that everyone was already at a excellent physical stage. However, that did not safe everyone from hard work and some tears within the following 2 weeks.
A unique commitment paired with a never give up mentality and great team work made this ITC a very special one which none of the Candidates or Trainers will ever forget!
For all those not familiar with the SSI Instructor Training Course ITC, please note that most of the time in the water is allocated for practicing skills and their supervision at expert level. The location for that is usually a boring sandy bottom. However, at Le Meridien Maldives boring sandy bottom is not available. At Le Meridien this training was conducted at sandy part of the incredibly beautiful House Reef. A summary of the encountered Marine life during our Instructor Candidates skill training:

15 x Parrot Fishes (Daria’s favorites 🙂 )

2 x Black Tip Reef Sharks
Following all those exciting encounters and long days in the classroom it was time to handover our Candidates Charlie, Daria, Magga, Nuttey and Salley to the examiner Marco Gervassi from Scuba Schools International (SSI).
After two long days of examination and evaluation the final certificate handover ceremony was conducted on the Ocean onboard of our Oceanic 4 Diving Boat. Dolphins along the way as well as a rainbow made this moment even more memorable than it was already…
The Sub Oceanic Maldives Trainers SSI Assistant Instructor Trainer Chun-Ping Lin and SSI Instructor Trainer Florian Gansl did their best. As a result we are proud to welcome probably the best new Diving Instructors in the Maldives in our team!
Providing our loyal and hard working Team Members unique Training possibilities is a core pillar of Sub Oceanics team spirit. For 2025 we aim for Pyng achieving the SSI Instructor Trainer level.
